Applebridge Family Names the Teesside Family as Charity of the Year 2025

Applebridge Family has officially named The Teesside Family as its Charity of the Year for 2025/26. The announcement, made on Tuesday 6th May 2025, marks the beginning of a year-long partnership, during which The Teesside Family will benefit from a £15,000 fund to support its charitable activities across the region.

The Teesside Family is a registered charity run by local volunteers. Its core mission is to offer practical and emotional support to individuals and families in Teesside who are facing significant life challenges such as illness, financial hardship, or other personal difficulties. The charity provides short respite breaks. Additionally, it funds community and sports groups that are otherwise unable to access essential resources or sponsorship.

Each year, Applebridge Family selects a charity whose values and work resonate with its team and community ties. The nomination of The Teesside Family came from The CAUSE Foundation, Applebridge’s Charity of the Year for 2024, in recognition of the tangible difference the charity makes to those most in need.

Gemma Peacock, Applebridge Family Charity of the Year Coordinator, said:
”The Teesside Family stood out because of the direct, hands-on support they provide to people in difficult circumstances. The charity’s reach is wide, yet the support it gives feels incredibly personal. We’re pleased to be supporting an organisation rooted in the same communities where many of our colleagues and clients live and work.”

The funding will be used to expand the charity’s current support services, help more families access short breaks, and assist local groups who promote wellbeing through community and sporting activities.

A spokesperson for The Teesside Family commented:
”Being named Applebridge Family’s Charity of the Year is an incredible boost for us. We work with families who are struggling to access even the most basic experiences, like a short break away. This support will help us reach more people when they need it most. We are incredibly grateful for the recognition and look forward to a meaningful partnership over the coming year.”

The Applebridge Charity of the Year initiative has previously supported several regional causes including The CAUSE Foundation (2024), Victoria’s Wish (2023), The Ellen Timney Foundation (2022), and Remembering Rebecca (2021).
